Vaudoise Aréna
Prilly, Switzerland
The Vaudoise Aréna is located in the suburb of Prilly, alongside the older Centre Sportif de Malley, it replaced the CIG de Malley, which served as the home of HC Lausanne until its closure in 2017. During the construction period, the team played in a temporary facility known as Malley 2.0. The new building opened on September 24, 2019, designed by the architecture firm Pont12 architectes. It cost CHF 229 million to build. It is part of a larger complex that also includes a fencing centre and a swimming pool complex.
The roof is a tensile structure made of PTFE-coated fiberglass. Seating is mounted on rails to allow for quick reconfiguration. The venue has a seated capacity of 9,600 for ice hockey and other sporting events, and up to 12,000 for concerts, utilizing standing room areas on the floor. Lausanne HC of the Swiss National League is the primary tenant. Other resident clubs include the Lausanne Table Tennis Club and the Cercle des Armes de Lausanne.
The arena hosted ice hockey events and the opening ceremony of the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics. A rehearsal accident during those games saw a Russian figure skater fall from a height of 5 meters. The venue has hosted concerts by artists such as André Rieu and Robbie Williams. It is scheduled to host matches for the 2028 European Men's Handball Championship.
A Champions Hockey League match against Genève-Servette HC drew 8,973 spectators. The highest recorded attendance for a match is 9,600, achieved during National League play-off games against Langnau Tigers and ZSC Lions.
