Vorarlberghalle
Feldkirch, Austria
The Vorarlberghalle is an arena finished in 1977. The surface inside is artificial ice, kept hard regardless of the season.
VEU Feldkirch won nine national titles here before the club collapsed, and the hall still hosts BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg , who play in the ICE Hockey League.
The arena is operated by a municipal leisure facilities company, which means it serves as much for the local skating schools as it does for the professionals. A renovation in 2023 added a photovoltaic system to the roof, a minor update for a building that has seen more significant shifts. The hockey teams need the points badly to stay in their respective leagues, but the hall itself is immune to the table positions. There is no sense of occasion when the teams have nothing to do all evening ; there is only the sound of skates on ice and the hum of the refrigeration units. The hall does not get out of second gear , and it does not need to.
