Zimný štadión Senica
Senica, Slovakia
The facility has operated since 1986. It is an ice hockey arena, home to HC Dukla Senica and the youth teams, as well as HK 91 Senica. While the surface is natural ice during the winter, the arena works the channels in the summer months. From May to July, the ice is taken up, and the ground becomes an in-line skating surface. This dual use means the facility does not stand empty for half the year.
The capacity is a steady 3,000. It is not a large venue, but it is sufficient for the local league. The arena is run by Rekreačné služby mesta Senica, the municipal recreational services. They have announced plans to modernise the cooling equipment, a project valued at 850,000 euros, and have recently acquired a WM Mammoth Born Electronic ice resurfacer.
Public skating is available twice a week, mostly on Wednesdays and weekends, and the locker rooms are open for rent.
