Zimný štadión Skalica

The Zimný štadión Skalica opened in 1969, with a roof added in the following decade. The ground has lived through the rise and fall of HK 36 Skalica, a team that has played in the Slovak Extraliga during several periods, including 1997–98 to 2014–15.

In 2005, a complete reconstruction of the refrigeration machine room to indirect cooling was carried out, along with the reconstruction of the inner ice surface using steel pipes. This work was performed by the company OL TRADE. Later, a wireless zoning control system for heating was installed to manage temperatures in approximately 60 rooms and 125 radiators, handled by IQRC. The club faced financial difficulties, leading to relegation and restructuring, including the formation of a new HK Skalica in 2016.

The capacity is reported with some variation across sources, often cited as 4,095 or 4,100 spectators. Seating capacity is reported as 2,648 in some sources, while others cite 3,214 total seats, suggesting a portion of the arena consists of standing room which may have been modified over time. The venue hosted the conclusion of the 2014–15 Slovak Extraliga season.

During the 2015/2016 Tipsport Liga season, the club had the lowest average attendance in the league, with fewer than 1,000 spectators at all but three home games.
