Dokara beat Al-Salt 2:0 in the third round of the league at home on Wednesday evening. The hosts had lost both previous matches without scoring, while the visitors sat second with four points from one win and a draw. This result finally broke Dokara's winless run and gave them something tangible from their opening two defeats.
H. Al Saifi opened the scoring just before half-time, scoring in the 45th minute plus four. Al-Salt pressed for an equaliser after the break and created their best chance through E. Ebedebiri, who missed a penalty in the 85th minute. That miss proved costly. F. Ghatasha added the second goal in the 90th minute plus three to close out the match.
Al-Salt dominated possession at 61 per cent and launched 137 attacks compared to Dokara's 107. They registered five shots on target and six off target, while Dokara were more efficient with four shots on target and none missing. The visitors earned six corners to three, but corners meant little when chances went begging.
The result moves Dokara off zero points for the first time this season, though they remain 10th in the table. Al-Salt stay second with four points, but the confidence from beating Al-Arabi 3:1 earlier has been checked. They had nothing to do all evening after their penalty miss, and the late goal confirmed they were out-thought on the touchline.
