AEK Athens secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over Nestos Chrysoupolis in the first round of the Greek Cup on 2 September 2026. AEK's recent form suggests this was a straightforward progression. They had drawn 1-1 with Kifisia on 30 August before posting two consecutive 4-0 victories. Nestos, meanwhile, came off a 1-0 win against Apollon Pontou but struggled to replicate that intensity here.
The result moves AEK into the second round with room to breathe. Nestos will need to regroup quickly, their cup campaign already ended after just 83 minutes of meaningful football.
