Peterzalka extended their perfect start to the Slovak Second League with a clean-sheet victory over Liptovsky Mikulas. The hosts moved to the top of the table with six wins from six games, leaving the visitors in eighth place after a mixed run of form.
The first half was a cagey affair with neither side creating clear chances. The game opened up after the break when Peterzalka took the lead in the forty-sixth minute following a substitution. B. Ninaj found space to slot home, giving the hosts a slender advantage that they would not relinquish.
Liptovsky Mikulas pushed for an equaliser but struggled to break down a well-organised defence. Peterzalka doubled their lead in the seventy-eighth minute when P. Nikolaj finished off a patient build-up. The visitors had more possession but failed to convert their 53 per cent share into meaningful opportunities.
The statistics tell the story of a game decided by efficiency. Peterzalka managed five shots on target compared to two for the visitors, and they did not waste the chances they created. Liptovsky Mikulas had twenty shots off target combined, a sign of frustration in the final third.
The result keeps Peterzalka at the summit with eighteen points, a six-point lead over their nearest rivals. Liptovsky Mikulas remain in the relegation battle after picking up only eight points from their opening six matches. The hosts have not lost a game since the start of the season and look strong favourites for promotion.
