Vanraure Hachinohe lost 0:2 to Tochigi City in the Round of 128 of the J-League Cup on Tuesday. The visitors scored twice and closed the game out with a comfortable margin. The result means Vanraure go out while Tochigi advance to the next stage.
B. Vasquez opened the scoring in the eleventh minute, and that proved decisive. Vanraure could not respond, and by then it was clear the visitors had control. T. Nguen added a second goal in the eighty-eighth minute to seal the victory.
Tochigi made one substitution in the forty-sixth minute when T. Tanaka came on. Vanraure brought on three players in the sixty-second minute — W. Owie, R. Takao and A. Simmons — and another in the sixty-ninth when A. Sato replaced someone. They made two more changes in the seventy-second minute, bringing on T. Nishimura and M. Kato, then added T. Oshima and Y. Masukake in the seventy-ninth. Y. Igari was the final substitution in the eighty-first minute.
Discipline was poor for Vanraure. T. Inui picked up two bookings in quick succession — first in the forty-ninth minute, then another in the eighty-third — before the referee showed him a red card in the same minute. T. Nishimura and S. Takayoshi each received yellow cards in the seventy-second and seventy-sixth minutes respectively.
Tochigi had already beaten Vanraure 5:0 on the fifteenth of August, and this result extends their advantage over the hosts. Vanraure have not won since the eighth of August, when they beat Kataller Toyama 2:0, and their recent run has been heavy going. The visitors, meanwhile, came from the dead after losing 1:3 to Jubilo Iwata on the twenty-ninth of August, picking up wins against Vegalta Sendai and Sagan Tosu before this victory.
