AB Copenhagen took all three points from Vendsyssel on Sunday, running out 3-0 winners in the first division's fourth round. The visitors struck first through M. Rasmussen in the seventeenth minute, then extended their advantage shortly after the break before C. Grening sealed the result. By then Copenhagen had already established a rhythm that Vendsyssel could not disrupt.
N. Engell added the second goal in the twenty-fifth minute, and the Danish side kept pushing. Grening made it three in the thirty-third, and the hosts found themselves chasing the game without much success. To be fair, Vendsyssel had more of the ball, but possession meant little when the chances did not materialise.
The statistics tell part of the story. Vendsyssel held 52 per cent of possession and completed 415 passes, yet they created only one big chance. Copenhagen managed with 48 per cent and 378 passes, but their shot accuracy sat at 45 per cent compared to 21 per cent for the hosts. They took fewer shots, but they hit the target more often.
Discipline became an issue as the match wore on. R. Schuller and K. Engstrom picked up bookings in quick succession around the twenty-first and twenty-second minutes, and more cards followed for both sides. M. Lauritsen and L. Steffensen were cautioned before the interval, while F. Gunnolfsson and M. Hannesbo went into the book after fifty minutes.
Coaching changes came thick and fast in the second half. S. Michael and M. Rasmussen were withdrawn on the hour mark and at seventy-seven, while A. C. Vendelbo and E. Pedersen came on together at sixty-eight. Grening was replaced at seventy, and N. Engell joined the substitutes at eighty-eight alongside S. Ilsoe. The visitors made fewer alterations but managed the game effectively.
Vendsyssel remain seventh with eight points from seven games, while Copenhagen sit eighth with six from six. The result extends Copenhagen's unbeaten run to three matches and leaves the hosts with more work to do before the next fixture.
