Zahradne and Vranov nad Topľou played out a 3-3 draw in the Round of 128 of the Cup on 26 August 2026, before Zahradne won the penalty shootout to advance. The match opened with a fifth-minute goal from P. Gaspar for the hosts, and M. Khomych equalised for Vranov just before the half-hour mark.
A turning point came in the fifty-sixth minute when J. Zubko was shown a yellow card and then sent off, leaving Vranov with ten men. B. Kipikasa missed a penalty shortly after the dismissal, and D. Dmytriiev restored Zahradne's lead in the sixty-third minute.
E. Stach pulled Vranov back into the contest in the seventy-sixth minute, and M. Palo put Zahradne ahead again in the seventy-seventh. E. Sabol scored in the ninety-third minute to complete the comeback, and the match went to extra time.
The penalty shootout did not go to the final round. Zahradne scored their first three attempts, while Vranov managed to convert only one of theirs. Zahradne missed their fourth attempt, but Vranov also missed — the shootout ended with Zahradne winning 3-1 on penalties.
Vranov had come into this fixture with mixed recent form, including a comfortable 3-0 win over Spišská Nová Ves in February 2026 and a heavy 8-0 victory against Kamenica in September 2024. The result means Zahradne progress to the next round of the Cup.
