Sinfield completed day four of his final 7in7 ultra-running challenge, visiting Super League grounds to raise funds for motor neurone disease charities.

The challenge is his seventh and final one. It takes him to all 12 Super League grounds before he finishes at Old Trafford, where he will present the match ball ahead of Saturday's Grand Final between Warrington and Wakefield.

The 46-year-old began the day at Wakefield's DIY Kitchens Stadium, where he hugged his son, Wakefield Trinity scrum-half Jack Sinfield, before setting off towards Middleton Grove. From there he made an emotional stop at Headingley, home of his former club Leeds, where crowds gave him a rapturous reception. He then passed Bradford's Odsal Stadium on his way to finishing the day in Huddersfield.

Between Leeds and Pudsey, former England defender Micah Richards joined the group, cycling alongside Sinfield for part of the route.

Fans had gathered inside the Accu Stadium to see him over the finish line. Speaking to supporters there, Sinfield said:

"I've had a wonderful day, stopped at some amazing clubs and just had the best reception. The whole message across the group the last four days has been around trying to raise money across the MND community by running. But running isn't the important bit. The important bit is this where people come together, pull the community together that care and want to show the support."

Sinfield has raised more than £11million for MND causes across his running challenges to date. With three days of this final effort still to come, the total is likely to rise further before he reaches Old Trafford this weekend.
