About the player
Aodhan Doherty arrived at Falkirk this season on loan from Blackburn Rovers. He came through the academy at Linfield, where he made his senior debut in September 2023 after signing his first professional contract that same month. Around fifteen appearances for the Belfast club were enough to convince Blackburn Rovers to sign him in the summer of 2024, with reports of the fee ranging from an undisclosed sum to a figure close to £100,000.
At Falkirk, Doherty wears the left-footed winger's game that has carried him through Northern Ireland's youth ranks. He has been capped at under-17, under-18, under-19 and under-21 level for Northern Ireland, including appearances at a European Under-19 Championship, though a senior call-up has not yet followed.
