About the player
Afonso Freitas came up through Vitória Guimarães, joining the club's youth ranks at nine years old before a move to Juventus at sixteen took him to Turin, where he spent two seasons with the Primavera side. He returned to Guimarães in 2018 to finish his development, and the club made the move permanent the following year, buying him back from Juventus.
The left-back worked his way up through Vitória Guimarães B before breaking into the senior squad in 2022. He left as a free agent in the summer of 2024 for Nacional, then moved on again in January 2025 to Marítimo.
He then moved on again on a free transfer, this time to Felgueiras 1932.
