A. Steinbach

Alexis Steimbach came up through Gimnasia La Plata's youth ranks before a loan spell at Tristán Suárez, the kind of move clubs use to get a young defender regular minutes away from the first-team pressure of La Plata. He returned to Gimnasia in 2022 and has held a place in the squad since, wearing number 25.

Steimbach plays on the right, comfortable both as a full-back and further forward in midfield, a versatility that has kept him in and around the first-team picture. He remains, by his own club's account, a product of the academy rather than an outside signing, which shapes how he is regarded at the club — as one of their own rather than a name bought in.
