About the player
He started out at CSKA Almaty in 2018, before a string of moves took him through Kairat-Jastar, Shakhter Karagandy and a loan spell at Shakhter-Bulat, then Ekibastuz, before settling at Atyrau from 2022 to 2024.
It was at Atyrau that Adambaev found his most productive run, making appearances across league and cup competitions and reaching the final of the Kazakhstan Cup in 2024, where the club finished as runners-up.
The move to Yelimay Semey in January 2025 opened the door to full international recognition. Having previously been called up at U21 level for matches against Spain and North Macedonia, Adambaev made his senior debut for Kazakhstan on 14 February 2025 in a friendly against Uzbekistan, starting the match. The following month he was named in the training camp squad for 2026 World Cup qualifiers under interim coach Ali Aliyev.
He now wears the number 2 shirt for Yelimay Semey, known to supporters as Spartak Semey.
