About the player
Parkinson joined Newcastle United's academy at the age of seven. He captained the under-18s in the 2022–23 season, leading the side to the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup and scoring twice against Charlton Athletic in the third round. He signed his first professional contract that July and was handed a debut as a substitute against Bournemouth in the Premier League on 11 November 2023.
Parkinson spent most of his time with the under-21s, scoring eight goals in eleven Premier League 2 matches during the 2024/2025 season. He was also part of the Newcastle squad that won the Northumberland Senior Cup in 2023–24. He has been capped by England at under-16 level.
In January 2026, Parkinson left Newcastle for Falkirk on a permanent deal, signing a contract until June 2028. He made an immediate mark in Scottish football, scoring Falkirk's goal in a 1–1 draw against Hearts in the Scottish Cup fourth round before converting the winning penalty in the shootout to send Falkirk through to the fifth round.
