About the player
Eleven goals in fourteen matches made Baran Başyiğit the top scorer of the U19 Elit B Ligi regular season in 2021–22, and the same year he won the TSYD Cup with Gençlerbirliği , finishing runner-up in the competition a season later.
He had joined the Gençlerbirliği academy in 2013 and worked his way up, signing his first professional contract with the club in 2020. What followed was a run of loans rather than a settled place: Hacettepe SK in the second half of 2020–21, Orduspor 1967 from August 2023, Hacettepe 1945 SK from January 2024, and Polatlı 1926 SK for the whole of 2024–25.
He stayed only until December, joining Bursaspor on 23 December 2025 for an undisclosed fee.
Bursaspor won the 2. Lig title in 2025–26 and went up to the 1. Lig. Başyiğit has three goals from eight league appearances for the club.
His only international appearance came early — one cap for Turkey at under-17 level, in a friendly against Slovakia on 10 February 2020.
An ambidextrous forward, he was born in Mersin.
