About the player
Debinha arrived in Kansas City in January 2023 as a free agent, and she has kept adding to it. In August 2026 she broke the NWSL's all-time scoring mark, taking her career total in the league to 83 goals, a number built up over stints with North Carolina Courage and now Kansas City.
Her path started far from the United States. Brought through the Brazilian clubs Lorena, Saad, Portuguesa, Foz Cataratas and Centro Olímpico, she took a loan spell at São José in 2014 that brought her a Copa Libertadores Femenina and the International Women's Club Championship. That form carried her to Norway, where she joined Avaldsnes and finished as the Toppserien's top scorer in 2014, before a year in China with Dalian Quanjian and then the move to the NWSL in 2017.
At North Carolina Courage she built the trophy case that still defines her career: NWSL Shield wins in 2017, 2018 and 2019, and back-to-back league championships in 2018 and 2019, the second of which brought her the Championship MVP award. She added the NWSL Challenge Cup in 2022, having already been named that competition's MVP in 2021 and repeating the feat in 2022. Kansas City has extended that list of honours, with a further Shield in 2025.
On the international stage, Debinha has been a fixture for Brazil, reaching 136 caps and 59 goals by July 2023. She has represented her country at the 2019 and 2023 FIFA Women's World Cups and at the Olympic Games in 2016 and 2020.
