About the player
Edvin Kurtulus made his senior debut for Halmstads BK in May 2019.
Hammarby signed him in August 2021, and the move became effective the following January. Kurtulus went on to make 66 league appearances for the Stockholm club, scored three goals and was named vice-captain during the 2023 season. That summer, with Sturm Graz reportedly offering around €3 million for him, he chose to stay at Hammarby.
The transfer eventually came in June 2024, when Ludogorets Razgrad paid a reported €1.45 million to bring him to Bulgaria. He won the league title, the Bulgarian Cup and the Super Cup with the club, and opened his scoring account there in a league win over CSKA 1948.
Kurtulus's international story has an unusual turn. He first represented Kosovo at Under-21 level, collecting 12 caps between 2020 and 2022, before switching allegiance to Sweden. He made his senior debut for Sweden as a substitute against Serbia in a UEFA Nations League match in June 2022. He has since earned four caps for his adopted national team, though he is yet to score at that level.
