Fernando Aurelio Román Villalba

Fernando Román came through the academy at Libertad, making his first-team debut in the Paraguayan Primera in August 2017 before a move to Cerro Porteño the following year — a switch that never produced a competitive appearance for the club. His career took shape in Argentina after he joined Aldosivi in September 2020, debuting that November.

Two loan spells back home punctuated his time at Aldosivi. At Nacional in 2023 he became a regular fixture, playing 36 matches. A year later, at Olimpia, he scored his first senior goal, netting on 22 May 2024 during a 14-match stint before returning once more to Aldosivi, where he stayed through to the summer of 2026.

At international level, Román has not featured for Paraguay's senior side, but he has represented the under-23 team. Called up in December 2023 for Olympic qualifying, he went on to make Paraguay's squad for the 2024 Paris Olympics, appearing in the group-stage win over Mali and coming off the bench in the draw with Egypt.
