H. Ingason

Helgi Fróði Ingason came through the youth academy at UMF Stjarnan in his hometown of Garðabær and made his senior debut for the club in July 2022. He stayed with Stjarnan until August 2024, a spell that brought no silverware — the team finished fifth in the 2022 Besta deild karla, and the Icelandic Cup went elsewhere in both years he was there. It was in that competition, in February 2024, that he scored his first goal as a professional.

That August, Ingason moved to the Netherlands to join Helmond Sport, signing a contract that runs until June 2028. Stjarnan confirmed at the time that several clubs had made offers for the midfielder, though the fee involved was not disclosed.

He has been capped at U19, U20 and U21 level, scoring once for the U19s in a friendly. His most extensive involvement has come with the U21 side, for whom he has made 11 appearances and scored once, including six outings in qualifying for the UEFA European Under-21 Championship 2027. He has not yet been called up to the senior national team.
