About the player
Israel Dappa was still 16 when Hapoel Katamon Jerusalem gave him special permission to train and play with the senior squad. He made the most of it: on his debut, in a Toto Cup tie against Hapoel Petah Tikva, he scored the winning goal in a 1–0 win.
He is of Ghanaian descent and the younger brother of fellow footballer Daniel Dappa, born in Tel Aviv before the family's footballing path took him through Jerusalem's youth ranks.
In the 2025/2026 season he became a regular fixture for the first team, appearing in the league on 14 occasions, and adding five Toto Cup appearances with a further goal in that competition. The senior league goal has not yet arrived, but at his age the appearances alone marked him out. He was called up to the Israel under-19 side, for whom he collected caps during qualification matches for the 2026 UEFA European Under-19 Championship in the autumn of 2025.
A senior call-up for Israel has not yet followed, and Hapoel Katamon Jerusalem itself remains without a major trophy during his time in the squad.
