Ivan Konovalov

Ivan Konovalov's career map runs from the Spartak Moscow youth ranks through Sevastopol, Amkar Perm, Astrakhan, a spell in Serbia with Radnički Niš and OFK Bačka, then Torpedo-BelAZ Zhodino in Belarus. A move to Rubin Kazan in 2018 gave him his longest stretch at one club, though a loan to Ural Yekaterinburg produced only one Russian Premier League appearance and two heavy Cup defeats, to Ufa and Spartak.

The most notable turn came in January 2022, when Konovalov joined Livingston in the Scottish Premiership as a free agent, becoming the first Russian player to appear in British football. He made seven appearances that season before moving on to Kazakhstan. At Tobol Kostanay he played 28 matches and kept ten clean sheets in 2022/23, helping the club beat Ordabasy 1-0 in the final to win the Cup of Kazakhstan — the only major title of his career so far.

A year at Baltika Kaliningrad brought no league appearances, and he left when his contract ran out. Since then he has moved frequently again — Dinamo Minsk, where he was named best player in a match against Gomel, then Altai Ust-Kamenogorsk, and now Yelimay Semey on a free transfer through the end of 2026.

Konovalov has represented Russia at Under-21 level, including the 2014 Commonwealth Cup, but has never been capped by the senior side. His agent said in late 2024 that he was disappointed at his exclusion from squads named for matches against Brunei and Syria.
