J. Korhonen

Joni Korhonen built his career in Finland's second and third tiers, scoring goals from wide positions for a string of clubs across almost two decades. He made his mark at FC Viikingit between 2011 and 2013, scoring 18 goals in 76 matches.

His most productive spell came at AC Oulu, where he arrived first in 2009 and helped the club win the Ykkönen title, scoring three goals in 24 appearances as Oulu earned promotion to the Veikkausliiga. He returned to Oulu a decade later in 2019, adding 27 appearances and two goals before leaving at the end of that season, and now plays for the club again wearing the number 40 shirt.

Between those two spells at Oulu, Korhonen moved through FC Honka, HIFK and PK-35, among others. At FC Honka, where he had two separate stints either side of his time in Oulu, Espoo and Helsinki, he was part of the squad that pushed for the Veikkausliiga playoffs in 2017. Across his career in the Ykkönen, Finland's second tier, he scored 40 goals in 181 matches.

Korhonen has never been capped by Finland at senior or youth level, his career instead built entirely within the domestic league system, moving between Espoo, Helsinki and Oulu as he found game time and goals.
