About the player
Jeferson Rivas came through the youth academy at Atlético Nacional and was part of the squad that won the 2016 Copa Libertadores and the Copa Colombia, though he never made a senior competitive appearance for the club's first team before the loans started. Nacional sent him out to Tigres FC in 2018, and from there to Itagüí Leones, first on loan and then, from 2021, as a permanent signing.
It was at Itagüí, in the Categoría Primera B, that Rivas found his scoring form. Across his spells with Tigres and Leones he built up 31 goals in the division, and in the Torneo Betplay 2022-I he finished as the competition's top scorer with 13 league goals.
Rivas then moved to Águilas Doradas and later to Deportivo Pasto, playing sparingly before his transfer to Bolivia.
Internationally, Rivas represented Colombia at U-20 level, playing at the 2019 South American U-20 Championship in Chile.
