J. Shore

Jonathan Shore made New York City FC history.

Shore is a product of the city he plays for. He started training at Manhattan Kickers FC at the age of four and a half, spending six years there before moving into the NYCFC academy in 2017. From there he progressed through NYCFC II in MLS NEXT Pro before his promotion to the first team in 2025.

His MLS debut came on 22 February 2025, away to Inter Miami CF, a game that finished 2-2 and in which he came on as a second-half substitute. The rest of the season showed the promotion was no formality: Shore featured in 23 league matches, starting 14 of them and totalling 600 minutes on the pitch. The Dallas goal that followed in July made him the 12th Homegrown player to sign with NYCFC and only the fifth of that group to score for the club.

He has already drawn interest from the US youth setup, having been called up to the under-15 and under-16 national teams. NYCFC also named him among the young players to watch heading into the Leagues Cup in 2025.
