About the player
Jannes Luca Wieckhoff grew up in Schenefeld, near Hamburg, and played for Blau-Weiß 96 Schenefeld, then Hamburger SV's youth ranks, before switching to FC St. Pauli's academy in 2012. He stayed there through to 2019, when he signed his first senior contract with the club.
At St. Pauli he split his time between the first team and the reserves in the Regionalliga Nord, playing 30 matches for the second side while making 10 senior appearances and scoring once for the main squad. In November 2020 he was named the club's Best Young Player. He also earned a single cap for Germany's under-19 side.
In 2023 he left Hamburg for the Netherlands, joining Heracles Almelo on a free transfer. Over three seasons there he made 58 appearances for the club before his contract ran out in June 2026. He then moved on again, this time to De Graafschap, signing until June 2028 — another free transfer.
Wieckhoff has not yet won a major trophy with any of his clubs.
