Jesús Ferreira

Jesús Ferreira's route into professional football ran through his father. David Ferreira signed for FC Dallas when Jesús was ten years old, and he moved to the United States, joining the club's academy system. He came through every level of it and signed his first contract as a Homegrown Player in 2016. The only interruption came in 2018, on loan to USL side Tulsa, where he scored six goals in fourteen appearances.

Back at Dallas, Ferreira made 181 appearances across all competitions and scored 55 goals between 2017 and 2024. 2022 was his best year there: he was named MLS Young Player of the Year, was included in the league's Best XI, and played in the All-Star Game.

In January 2025 he moved to Seattle Sounders FC in a deal built around more than a straightforward fee: Dallas received winger Léo Chú, allocation money spread across two years, and a share of any future transfer fee should Ferreira move to Europe. The transfer was valued at around €1.45 million. He took the number 9 shirt at Seattle and played 48 matches in his first season, scoring 5 goals and providing 12 assists. He was a key part of the squad that won the 2025 Leagues Cup, and Ferreira played every one of the six matches, contributing a goal and an assist. He has continued into the 2026 season, making 15 MLS appearances so far.

Ferreira made his debut for the United States in a friendly against Costa Rica in 2020. He came on as a substitute against the Netherlands at the 2022 World Cup, scored four goals against Grenada during the CONCACAF Nations League campaign the US won that season, and finished as top scorer of the 2023 Gold Cup with seven goals in five matches, including two hat-tricks.
