Jie Sun

Sun Jie spent almost the whole of his career at one club. He came through the Changchun Yatai youth system and made his senior debut in 2010, then stayed for 15 seasons and more than 200 appearances.

The lowest and highest points of that spell came close together. Changchun Yatai dropped into China League One in 2018, and Sun Jie was part of the side that got over the line and won the league title on their way back to the Chinese Super League in 2020. A brief loan spell took him to Norway in March 2019, where he joined Eliteserien club Stabæk, though he was restricted to cup football there and returned to Changchun Yatai that same summer without adding a league appearance for the Norwegian club.

His long association with Changchun Yatai ended in 2024, when he moved to Qingdao West Coast on loan in February and made 22 appearances during that spell. The move became permanent in January 2025, when he signed for the club as a free agent.

At international level, Sun Jie's involvement has stayed at youth level: he was part of the China under-20 squad in 2009, without going on to earn senior caps for the national team.
