About the player
Johnly Yfeko spent most of his time at Rangers in the B team, making just one senior appearance for the first team — a start against Greenock Morton in the Scottish League Cup in August 2023 that Rangers won 2-1. He still collected a winner's medal from that competition in the 2023-24 season despite the limited game time.
A loan to Exeter City in July 2024 gave the defender a proper run in senior football. He made his competitive debut for the club against Rotherham United that August and was named Man of the Match, setting up the winning goal and winning all seven of his aerial duels. He went on to make 12 league appearances and one in the FA Cup across that season. Exeter triggered the option to buy in May 2025, turning the move permanent and tying Yfeko to a two-year contract.
Left-footed and left-footed in the air as well as on the ground, the 191cm centre-back began his youth career at Tottenham Hotspur before a move to Leicester City, where he stayed until his release in the summer of 2021. A trial at Southampton's under-18s that May did not lead to a contract, and he signed for Rangers in January 2022.
He added eight league appearances and one in the EFL Trophy for Exeter in the 2025-26 season.
