Joshua James Rawlins

Rawlins made his professional bow for Perth Glory against Shanghai Shenhua in the AFC Champions League at 16 years, 6 months and 26 days old, the youngest player ever to appear in the competition. A little over two months later he started an A-League match against Adelaide United, again the youngest to do so.

He left home football in 2022 for Jong Utrecht in the Dutch Eerste Divisie, a four-year deal that took him into a different developmental environment, and made two dozen appearances in his first season there. A loan back to Perth Glory in early 2024 gave him regular football again, including his first senior goal, before he and Utrecht agreed to part company by mutual consent that June. Melbourne Victory signed him days later, making more than 20 appearances in each of his two seasons at the club without adding to his goal tally.

Alongside his club career, Rawlins has moved steadily through Australia's youth setups, from the under-15s through to the under-23s, and was part of the squad that reached the fourth-place finish at the 2022 AFC U-23 Asian Cup. He also featured for Australia at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup, where the team reached the round of 16. The Guardian named him in its "Next Generation 2021" list of prospects to watch. A senior Socceroos call-up has yet to follow. In May 2026 he agreed a pre-contract with Dundee United, a move to Scotland confirmed for the following July on a three-year deal.
