About the player
Julian Kania spent his first two senior seasons well outside the professional game, scoring 15 times in 20 matches for TSV Dinkelscherben before a move to TSV Schwaben Augsburg produced 36 goals in 58 appearances. At 1. FC Nürnberg he first had to work through the reserve side, where 24 goals in 32 Regionalliga Bayern appearances earned him four outings with the senior team in the 2. Bundesliga.
The breakthrough arrived at Arminia Bielefeld. In the 2024–25 season he scored 14 goals in 34 league appearances as the club won the 3. Liga title and went up to the 2. Bundesliga, adding the Westphalian Cup along the way. In the 2025 DFB-Pokal final, lost 4–2 to VfB Stuttgart, Kania got on the scoresheet and became the first player from a third-tier club to score in a German Cup final.
Loaned to VfL Osnabrück in January 2026, he made 12 appearances in the 3. Liga as the club secured the league title. He has not been capped by Germany at senior level.
