About the player
Kelsy stands 193cm and came through the academy at Mineros Guayana in Venezuela, where he broke into the first team in 2022. A short spell followed at Uruguay's Boston River, though he never made a competitive appearance for the club.
In January 2023, Kelsy signed for Shakhtar Donetsk. He was loaned to MLS side FC Cincinnati in 2024, giving him his first taste of American soccer.
That loan set up a permanent switch. Portland Timbers signed Kelsy in January 2025 for a fee in the region of $6 million . As part of the deal, Portland also paid Cincinnati up to $175,000 in allocation money for his MLS rights, split between guaranteed and conditional payments.
