About the player
Lourenço Figueiredo played far from Leixões, on loan at Varzim, where the centre-back logged 29 appearances and a goal in the 2024/25 campaign after arriving from the club that summer. In June 2025 he received his first call-up to Portugal's under-21 side for the European Championship.
Figueiredo came through the academy at Vitória Setúbal, joining the club in 2021 and leaving in 2024. On 1 July that year he signed for Leixões SC on a contract running to 30 June 2026 — he was sent straight back out on loan to Varzim for the season that followed.
A left-footed defender, Figueiredo operates in the centre of defence and wears the number 3 shirt at Leixões. Portugal called him into the under-21 group as the squad prepared for the European Championship, with the player himself telling Record he believed the team could progress from the group stage. He returned to Leixões for the 2025/26 season having spent the previous year gaining regular senior minutes elsewhere.
