About the player
Lachlan Rose came through the National Premier Leagues system in New South Wales rather than a traditional academy, starting out with NWS Spirit before moving through Blacktown City and Blacktown Spartans, where 36 appearances and 10 goals in the NPL NSW 2. He joined the club as a free transfer for its inaugural A-League Men season in 2020, scoring 19 goals in all competitions across four seasons and being voted Macarthur Medal winner as the club's Player of the Year in 2022, a campaign in which he also finished as top league scorer with seven goals. He won the Australia Cup with Macarthur that year as well.
A free transfer took him to Newcastle Jets in July 2024. Rose was the Jets' top scorer in the 2024–25 season with eight league goals in 18 appearances and picked up the Craig Johnston Award as the club's Player of the Year. He started in the Hahn Australia Cup final in 2025 as Newcastle Jets beat Heidelberg United 3-1, adding a second cup winner's medal to his collection, and he was part of the squad that went on to win the A-League Premiership in 2025–26.
In March 2026, Rose agreed a pre-contract with Dundee United, and he made the move to the Scottish Premiership permanently on a free transfer once his deal at Newcastle Jets expired, signing a two-year contract with the option of a third.
