Mario Ćuže

Zrinjski have signed Mario Ćuže three times. The Croatian forward first arrived in Mostar on loan from Dinamo Zagreb for 2022–23, and joined permanently again in 2026.

Ćuže started at ONK Metković, moved to Neretva, and from 2013 was in Dinamo Zagreb's youth academy. He joined the senior side in 2017, playing for the reserves in the Druga HNL, and was part of the squad that won the Croatian championship in 2019–20. First-team minutes came elsewhere: loans to Istra 1961 in 2019, Lokomotiva Zagreb in 2020, Dnipro-1 in Ukraine in 2021–22, and then Zrinjski.

That first Mostar season was the one that stuck. Ćuže played 44 matches and scored 10 goals across all competitions, eight of those appearances and two of the goals in Europe, and Zrinjski took both the league and the cup. The permanent transfer followed in 2023, and 2023–24 was better still — 48 matches, 16 goals, with 14 games in European competition.

Then it thinned out. He managed 24 appearances and four goals in 2024–25, a season Zrinjski still finished as champions, before the move to Gangwon that lasted barely any time at all. Back on loan in 2025–26, he played 36 matches for five goals.

Ćuže has represented Croatia at every youth level: 8 caps and two goals at under-16, 15 and two at under-17, then three at under-19, one at under-20, eight at under-21 and one at under-23 in 2023. He has two goals from five matches so far in 2026–27.
