Maksim Glushenkov

Maksim Glushenkov started early: he took up the game at the age of five with FC Dnepr Smolensk, before moving through the Yuriy Konoplev Academy in Tolyatti and a brief spell in Lokomotiv Moscow's youth ranks. It was at Chertanovo that his career actually began, and he made his professional debut there against Kaluga, later helping the club win the PFL Zone West title.

Spartak Moscow signed him in January 2019, but his development came largely away from Moscow, through loan spells at Krylia Sovetov and Khimki. The second of those loans, back at Krylia Sovetov, produced seven goals in 29 games and persuaded the Samara club to sign him permanently from Spartak. Lokomotiv Moscow then paid to bring him back to the capital, and it was there that Glushenkov had his best individual season, finishing as the Russian Premier League's top assist provider with 16 in 2023/24 and earning a place on the League's list of best players. Zenit Saint Petersburg signed him in June 2024 on a four-year deal.

At international level, Glushenkov made his Russia debut against Kyrgyzstan in September 2022. His standout moment came on 25 March 2025, when he scored a hat-trick against Zambia in a 5-0 friendly win — the first hat-trick by a Russia player since 2019.

With Zenit, he has added a Russian Premier League title and two Russian Super Cups to his honours list.
