Maj Mittendorfer

Maj Mittendorfer came through the FC Koper academy before finishing his development at NK Olimpija Ljubljana, and it was back at Koper, after stops at NK Dekani and NK Celje, that his career took shape. He returned to the Slovenian club in January 2022 on a free transfer and went on to establish himself as a key player, eventually taking the captain's armband. Over that second spell he made 94 appearances and scored four goals, as a regular starter.

Koper finished second in the Slovenian Prva Liga in the 2021–22 and 2025–26 seasons and third in 2024–25. The club also reached the Slovenian Cup final in 2024–25, though they were beaten by NK Celje, making three appearances there in the 2021 window.

His first taste of senior football came at NK Dekani in 2020, where he scored once in seven appearances before a short return to Koper opened the door to Celje and, later, the move that defined his career. In July 2026 he left Slovenia altogether, joining FC Yelimay Semey in the Kazakhstan Premier League on a free transfer. He has since made seven league appearances for his new club and featured twice in the UEFA Europa Conference League, in unfamiliar surroundings.
