About the player
Marcos Alexandre Rodrigues Silva built his career in Portugal's lower divisions. Signed for Angola, he earned his first cap in a 2024 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Eswatini, coming on as a second-half substitute for Gelson Dala in a match his side won 1-0.
His path to that call-up ran through a string of modest Portuguese clubs. He started out at Praiense before moving to RD Agueda and then to União de Leiria. A loan to Alverca produced his best return in front of goal, and a later loan took him to Marítimo. His penalty record from these years stands at a perfect one from one.
In 2024 he left Portugal for Turkey, joining Iğdır FK on a free transfer. Further free moves followed in quick succession, first to Ankara Keçiörengücü and then to Serik Belediyespor, where he added three goals in his appearances there. He now continues his career in Turkey with Sarıyer.
