Orlín Peter Quiñónez Ayoví

Orlín Quiñónez has spent his career moving rather than settling. Since turning professional in 2012 with Independiente del Valle, where he made seven Serie A appearances, he has worn the shirts of close to a dozen clubs across Ecuador's top two divisions, rarely staying more than a season or two in any one place.

The steadiest stretch came at Macará, where he returned for a second spell in 2018 and 2019 after an earlier run in 2014 and 2015, and 9 de Octubre, a club he joined three separate times. It was with 9 de Octubre in 2020 that Quiñónez collected the clearest team honour of his career, winning the Ecuadorian Second Division. He stayed involved in the club's cup campaigns too, adding appearances in the Copa Ecuador and a single outing in the Copa Sudamericana.

A first taste of Serie A regularity came at El Nacional in 2023, where he played 18 league matches before a fourth stint at 9 de Octubre the following year. In 2025 he moved to Libertad, based in Loja, and had his busiest top-flight campaign yet: 31 Serie A appearances and two goals. That form carried him abroad for the first time, to Guatemala's Xelajú, where he has featured in the national league and made an appearance in the CONCACAF Champions Cup in 2026.

Across a career built more on adaptability than a single defining move, Quiñónez has made his living as a defender clubs could call on when a settled spine was needed, even if only for a season at a time.
