About the player
Rick Jonkers is a goalkeeper for De Graafschap, back at the club where his career as a youth player once began. Born in Rheden, he took his first steps in the game at VV Rheden before moving into De Graafschap's own academy, where he stayed until 2018. From there he switched to PSV Eindhoven, spending several seasons in the youth ranks and playing for Jong PSV in the Eerste Divisie.
In the summer of 2024, Jonkers made the move back to De Graafschap, the club that had shaped him as a boy. He did not go straight into the first team, instead starting with the reserve side, Onder 21. His performances there earned him a place in the first-team squad for the 2025/2026 season.
The club rewarded that progress in September 2025, when Jonkers signed his first professional contract, tying him to De Graafschap until 2027. He shares the goalkeeping department at De Graafschap with Hidde Jurjus and Sten Kremers, and for now his focus remains on establishing himself at senior level rather than on caps or honours, neither of which he has yet collected at that stage of his career.
