About the player
Sebastian Gomez's route to the Sounders' first team ran through the club's own academy, which he joined in 2017, and then through Tacoma Defiance, Seattle's affiliate in MLS NEXT Pro. The forward made a handful of appearances in 2023 and scored five goals the following year, but 2025 was different: 28 appearances, 25 of them starts, five goals and six assists, including a hat-trick against Ventura County FC.
On 13 January 2026, Gomez signed with Seattle Sounders FC's first team as a Homegrown Player, tying him to the club through the end of the 2029 season with an option for 2030. He made his first-team debut in 2026, starting matches in both MLS and the Leagues Cup, and coming on as a substitute for the injured Jesús Ferreira. In the Leagues Cup meeting with Querétaro, he scored.
Gomez wears number 90 for Seattle and plays with his right foot. Born in Boca Raton, Florida, he holds US citizenship but has yet to feature for the senior national team.
