About the player
Samuel Kalu Ojim's biggest move came at nineteen, when Belgian side KAA Gent paid Slovakia's AS Trenčín €1 million for him in January 2017. Eighteen months later, Bordeaux went further still, paying €8.5 million to take him to Ligue 1.
Kalu managed only 13 appearances for Watford without scoring, and in September 2023 the club sent him on loan to Swiss side Lausanne-Sport. He returned to Watford in the summer of 2024. In September 2025 he moved on again, joining Botev Plovdiv in Bulgaria as a free agent.
He has represented Nigeria at senior level since October 2018, when he marked his debut against Libya with a goal.
