Oluwaseyi Babajide Ojo

Sheyi Ojo joined Liverpool's academy in November 2011, arriving from Milton Keynes Dons for a reported fee of £2 million, and made his senior debut for the club in 2016. What followed was a career built almost entirely away from Anfield: loan spells at Wigan Athletic, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Fulham, Stade de Reims, Rangers, Cardiff City and Millwall, with only eight league appearances for Liverpool itself. On his professional debut, on loan at Wigan Athletic, he was named Man of the Match.

Ojo left Liverpool as a free agent in June 2022 and signed permanently for Cardiff City the following month, later spending a loan spell at K.V. Kortrijk. In September 2024 he moved to NK Maribor, where he made 57 appearances and scored four goals across all competitions before his contract expired.

Ojo's honours came at youth level with England: he won the UEFA European Under-17 Championship and, in 2017, the FIFA U-20 World Cup, having also represented the Under-19s and Under-21s. He has never earned a senior cap for England, and although eligible for Nigeria through his parents, has not played for them either, despite having expressed interest in doing so. He joined FC Aktobe as a free agent in August 2026.
