About the player
Sawyer Djura grew up in Bend, Oregon, playing for Bend FC Timbers before joining the Portland Timbers academy in 2018. He spent four years working through the club's youth ranks and moved into the second team, Portland Timbers 2, in 2022, making his debut for the side that August. Two years later he stepped into the first team, making his MLS debut against Dallas on 4 July 2024.
That same month, Portland signed him to a first-team contract under the league's Homegrown Player Rule, tying him to the club through the 2027 season.
Djura has represented the United States at youth level, appearing for the under-17 side and being included in under-20 squads for training camps and friendlies, among them a gathering in Bulgaria.
