About the player
He came through the Aberdeen academy but never made a competitive first-team appearance for the club, instead spending a loan spell at Elgin City before Aberdeen released him in 2011. He rebuilt his career at Alloa Athletic, where he helped the club win the Scottish Third Division title before a move to Dundee in 2014.
The turning point came in January 2018. A loan to Hibernian was cancelled after 30 days without a single appearance, but Bain immediately joined Celtic on loan from Dundee and made seven appearances that season, including a performance against Rangers that stuck in supporters' minds. When his Dundee contract expired, Celtic made the move permanent, signing him on a four-year deal as a free agent in May 2018.
Across his time at Celtic, Bain collected seven Scottish Premiership titles, three Scottish Cups and four Scottish League Cups. He was released by Celtic in 2025 and signed a one-year deal with Falkirk that June.
Bain earned his first Scotland cap in a friendly against Mexico in June 2018, and added caps in Euro 2020 qualifiers against Kazakhstan and San Marino.
