About the player
Sebastian Nava's route to Los Angeles FC ran through the college game. Born in Torrance, he came up through the LA Galaxy Academy and made his professional bow with LA Galaxy II — the club that became Ventura County FC in 2021 — in the USL Championship. He spent 2021 to 2024 at the University of Portland, where he scored four goals as a freshman, then a sophomore season in which he led the entire West Coast Conference with ten assists. He earned an All-WCC Second Team selection in 2023, alongside honourable mentions across three separate years.
He returned to the professional pyramid in 2025 with LAFC 2 in MLS Next Pro, and it was there that he produced one of the clearest signs of his finishing ability, scoring in a 7–1 rout of FC Arizona in the U.S. Open Cup. He earned a short-term loan up to the LAFC first team in July 2026. He made his senior debut as a substitute on 17 July 2026, in a 3–1 win over Real Salt Lake.
