About the player
Tony Menzel came through Dynamo Dresden's youth system, having joined the academy in 2011 and worked his way up through every youth level before signing his first professional contract in the summer of 2023. He made his senior debut for the club on 1 October 2023, though his first season in the 3. Liga brought only four appearances.
The breakthrough came in 2024–25, when Menzel established himself as a regular starter in midfield, making 30 league appearances and contributing five goals and four assists as Dynamo Dresden secured promotion to the 2. Bundesliga. He also featured in the DFB-Pokal that season and again in the following campaign.
His contract at Dresden runs to the summer of 2028, tying his long-term future to the club that raised him even as he looks to prove himself elsewhere on loan.
