About the player
Victor Backman came through the youth ranks at Köping FF before joining Kalmar FF in 2017. He was promoted to the Kalmar senior squad in late 2020 and made his Allsvenskan debut in 2021, going on to make 13 appearances that season and ten more the following year without scoring. A loan to Oskarshamns AIK in August 2022 preceded a permanent move to Örebro SK in January 2023, where he spent two seasons in the Superettan, scoring three goals in 42 league matches — two in 20 appearances in 2023 and one in 22 the following year.
On 1 January 2025, Backman joined Sandvikens IF on a free transfer, signing a contract running until the end of December 2026. In his first season at the club, in the Superettan, he made 27 appearances and scored twice.
Backman represented Sweden at youth level, earning 15 caps and scoring once for the under-17 side. He was part of the squad during qualification for the 2018 UEFA European Under-17 Championship and was named in the squad for the finals in England, where Sweden went out in the quarter-finals to Italy. He later added two appearances for the under-19 team in friendly matches in 2019.
