Arkonia U19

The Central Youth League table has not been kind to Arkonia's under-19 side this season, which sits in the bottom half of the standings in 2025/2026, one of the country's top junior tiers, after joining the competition only in the past two years. There is no obvious quick fix in sight, and the results so far give the club little to build on before the campaign turns.

The senior club behind the shirt, KS Arkonia Szczecin, has carried its name since 1958, after starting out in 1946 as Milicyjny Klub Sportowy Szczecin and passing through a spell as Gwardia and a merger with Chrobry along the way. None of that turbulence reached the trophy cabinet at first-team level — Arkonia's footballers never won the Polish league or cup, and their closest brush with the top flight came with promotion in 1950 and brief top-division spells either side of 1960. The one honour that belongs to this age group specifically is older than the current squad by six decades: a Polish under-19 championship in 1964.

What the academy has produced instead is players who left before the silverware mattered. Władysław Szaryński started here before becoming a Górnik Zabrze legend and playing in the 1970 Cup Winners' Cup final, while Henryk Wawrowski went from Arkonia's ranks to an Olympic gold medal in 1976 as Poland captain. More recently Mikołaj Lebedyński passed through between 2002 and 2008 on his way to Pogoń Szczecin and clubs abroad.

The team trains and plays at Stadion Arkonii Szczecin, a ground that lost its old earth banks in a 2018 rebuild — one covered stand remains, with the rest of the site now given over to modern training facilities for the youth sides rather than spectator space for 9,000.

Pogoń Szczecin remains the fixture that matters most, the Derby Szczecina carrying weight in this city regardless of which age group is on the pitch — and it is Pogoń's academy that keeps producing the rivals these Arkończycy measure themselves against.
